Healing is a Journey-From the First Play to the First Breakthrough

More about
Journey2Healing

Every journey has a beginning, and mine started long before I became a therapist. Growing up in a family shaped by both hardship and resilience, I learned early on that healing is possible when people feel seen, supported, and understood. Those experiences became the foundation of who I am and why I created Journey2Healing.

I’m inspired by the strength people carry—often without realizing it—and by the courage it takes to face life’s challenges with openness and hope. My work is rooted in connection, creativity, and clinically grounded care, and I integrate both traditional and experiential approaches to meet the needs of the whole person. I specialize in sand tray therapy, psychodrama, play therapy, expressive arts, FirstPlay® infant work, and EMDR, allowing clients of all ages to engage in healing in ways that feel natural, empowering, and deeply meaningful.

My process is gentle, collaborative, and personalized. I meet every child, teen, adult, and family exactly where they are, honoring their story and helping them uncover the tools and insight already within them. Whether through play, expressive work, experiential modalities, or trauma-informed treatment, I strive to create a warm, safe space where healing feels possible and transformation can unfold at its own pace.

Journey2Healing is more than a practice—it’s a space built from lived experience, professional dedication, and a heartfelt commitment to walking alongside others as they reclaim peace, confidence, and emotional wellness. Your story matters here, and I’m honored to be part of your journey.

What ages do you work with?

I work with children (ages 3+), teens, adults, parents, and caregivers. I also provide specialized services in infant mental health, early bonding, and First Play®.

What can I expect during the first session?

Your initial session is an intake assessment where we explore your concerns, history, and goals.
For children, I begin by meeting with parents to gather background information and gain a full understanding of your child’s needs. Together, we create a plan for next steps.

Do you offer in-person or telehealth sessions?

Yes. I offer both in-person sessions at my Wellington, FL office and secure telehealth sessions when appropriate.

What therapeutic approaches do you use?

My approach is integrative, experiential, and relational. I blend:

  • Play Therapy (Child-Centered and Integrative)

  • Sand Tray Therapy

  • EMDR

  • Psychodrama and Expressive Arts

  • First Play®

  • Mindfulness and Somatic Regulation

  • CBT and DBT-informed skills

  • Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches

Treatment is always tailored to each person’s developmental needs and therapeutic goals.

How long is a therapy session?

Most individual therapy sessions are 50–60 minutes.
Family sessions run 75–90 minutes, and EMDR sessions may be up to 90 minutes depending on the treatment plan.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions for consistent support. As progress continues, some transition to bi-weekly or maintenance sessions. Frequency is always individualized based on your needs.

Do you take insurance?

I accept select insurance plans. Because coverage varies, I encourage you to check your specific outpatient mental health benefits, deductible, and copay.
A Good Faith Estimate is provided in compliance with the No Surprises Act.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept credit and debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, cash, and check. Payment is due at the time of service.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please notify the office at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or change your appointment. Late cancellations or missed sessions are charged the full session fee.

Yes. Parent involvement is an important part of working with children. I offer parent consultations to help support emotional regulation, behavior strategies, and strengthening the parent–child relationship.

What is First Play®?

First Play® is an attachment-based, infant–caregiver therapy model that uses nurturing touch, attunement, and play to support bonding, co-regulation, and early emotional development.
